For the record, winter is my 4th favorite season. It has been especially challenging this year with many days of inversion (the cold air traps pollution in the valley, which leads to hazy days and even colder temperatures). It has really made me feel blah all month. Aside from hoping for snow days when I was a student (or teacher), I have never really looked forward to snow in the forecast, but now snow means a chance to push out the inversion. We even had a day with real blue skies this week. It has really made a difference in my morale and energy level as the clouds have started to clear away. It makes me feel hopeful that spring is not too far away. Natalie and I have kept busy (inside, for the most part) by making winter-themed crafts and reading books about snow. We did take advantage of a recent snowfall to make a snowman and practice some snow angels.
Aaron has also been busy with some house projects:
For months he has wanted to make a window seat for our front room. We haven’t had a chance to paint it yet, but we’re pleased with how it turned out. Ideally, the drawers will be used to store toys. . .
The sunshine in the cold and dreary month was meeting Arae and her family while they were in town. Arae is starting a business to arrange photo albums for photographers and she hopes to get sponsors to make “angel books” to give to parents who have lost a child. She wanted to use Merideth as a girl sample and she specifically came to share the book with us. It was fun meet her family and visit about our experiences with our babies. You can view the book at the link on the right.

Love the snowmen -- did you just use hot glue? We're getting a storm, but we have extra golf balls...this would be a fun activity.
Nice job on the window seat too.

Aaron is so talented. Love the window seat.

I love the snowmem, and the window seat! That is the best way to build a snowman, inside where it is warm :)!
